PAT-ERNITY
|
|
Bob delivers Pat Martino's new custom Benny Deluxe!
After a final inspection and adjustment by Bob and a playability check by Howard, Pat Martino's new Benedetto is ready for the master!
With Pat's custom set of heavy gauge flatwound strings (.16 -.52), Custom B-6 Pickups, Spertzel tuners, 1 11/16" nut, black finish, and signature fingerrest (the best part!), Bob and Howard think the guitar already sounds like Pat! Now he only need apply his famous technique and inventive melodic concept!
See Pat performing with his new guitar next weekend at Iridium Lounge in NYC from July 23-26! :-)

EMERALD CITY

Our little Green ANDY is finished! :-)
Recall my saying recently "We couldn't resist making a little brother for our luscious Emerald Pearl Fratello... we want to make your other guitars, well, "green"..."
Well, here it is, being tested by our Final Assembly Guru Seth while Todd Cowart looks on (wanting to try our adorable little guy out himself!)
Soon to be on Bob's Boutique ;-)

FOOD FOR THOUGHT
|
|
Yet another Savannahian was so enamored with our BAMBINO model that he had to have one... (we love this can ya tell)
Tim Rutherford, guru of the popular Savannah Foodies website, with his "tasty" Benedetto. :-)
p.s. For you lovers of great food, wine and entertainment (duh, that's all of us!) sign up for Tim's Newsletter... and find out even more reasons (besides great jazz guitars) to come down to visit our beautiful city!
Cheers!

YOUNG AT HEART
|

BGers come in all ages...Savannah resident Fulton Hodges is discerning enough at a young age to know a good guitar...or two of them! (a Bambino and our 40th Anniversary Bambino model.)
Good luck with playing the guitar for many years, Fulton!:-)

METROPOLITAN HOME!
|
|
Having trouble convincing your spouse that you need that new Benedetto? Well, using it as "Guitar Art" (or Guitart for short?) to glam up your home may just turn the tides in your favor...
This exquisite living room is the home of our dear friends and Architects Extraordinaire Norbert and Barbara Jansen, with Norbert's Benedetto Collection prominently displayed in front of a stunning painting by Artist Sala Lieber.

Ok, for those who want to see more of the guitars (!!), included in his Collection are a La Venezia, the original Bravo prototype (initially the Jimmy Bruno prototype), a Fratello custom, "Little Barbara" Benny custom, "Peaches" 40th anniversary - the first Savannah Bambino 40th Anniversary model, a "well-played" Manhattan and the 7-string "knotty pine guitar"...
How creative can you be? We'd love to post your photos!

This is the 2nd in a Series of Benedetto Players ads... ;-)

DO YOU BELIEVE IN MAGIC?
|
|
There are some things so well-written that I wouldn't change a word...this is one. This photo was taken following Howard's clinic at the recent National Guitar Workshop, where Pat Martino had performed...(not a coincidence he is shown below!) Many thanks for your thoughtfulness, Lachlan...welcome to the BG Family ;-) (And I am totally on the same 'page' that there are no coincidences!)
"Cindy,
It still seems almost surreal how this all happened. I had a lesson with Pat Martino yesterday and his wife showed me her Bambino and was kind enough to let me play it. I of course liked it a lot; beautiful and beautiful sound.
The fact that I actually have THIS [BRAVO] guitar which suits me even better ( the Autumnburst is now my favorite color as well) is practically beyond my ability to believe.
What a wonderful instrument. It is indeed a work of Art (deserving of that capital A).
I will just have to come to realize this guitar and I were destined to meet.
Thank you for your kindness and please let Howard know how grateful I am to you and him for helping to make this happen.
I would love to visit Savannah someday and meet you and the man who has brought so much beauty and beautiful music into this world.
All the best for you and yours, Lach Macleay"
p.s. BG thanks to the Nat'l Guitar Workshop for having us and for making such dreams come true! :-) (those thanks extend to Pat and 'Aya Martino, too!!)

PAT MARTINO: COMIN' HOME BABY
|
|
Guitarist Pat Martino is an iconic figure in modern jazz and a dominating force behind much of the guitar vocabulary.
On a personal level, Pat is extraordinarily passionate, cerebral, spiritual and generous.
We feel that his new association with Benedetto Guitars is a homecoming of sorts. We can't quote all the wonderful things Pat has said about Bob Benedetto and about his new guitar (because it would sound like we were gushing!) So over the next many years we'll let Pat (and his lovely and talented wife 'Aya) speak for themselves.
Look for more information about his new guitar, his touring schedule, his record company, and his clinics.
Welcome home, Pat! HOWARD PAUL (and Bob & Cindy!)

p.s. Comin' Home Baby was written by Savannah's own legend, Bassist Ben Tucker.

A student of the legendary 7-stringer, Tino writes "I am very proud to own and be playing your guitars, with Bucky's guidance and patience."
He also adds: "Molto grazie a tutti!"
Our thoughts exactly :-)

DHRME BG GRAND OPENING 6-27-09...and Bill Neale on Tonight Show!?
|
|
Bill Neale, DHR's Director of Client & Artist Relations and a BG Artist (on his new Bravo Custom), & Joel Cross (Bravo) were heatin' up the Grand Opening of DHRME ...
"UP"DATE: Was just sent a very cool youtube link of Bill Neale on Bob Mile's "World of Guitar" show in 1998, including a clip from the Tonight Show... you'll immediately notice the guitarist (Bill!) steals the stage even more than Deniece Williams.... Bill's a bit older now but still cool as you can see above! :-)
