PLUMBURST GOES TO NASHVILLE

One of the many gorgeous guitars we are bringing to this Friday's NASHVILLE BENEDETTO CLINIC is our Bob's Boutique Plumburst Bravo Deluxe (#S1660)...shown in yesterday's News photo.

At right is a photo of its predecessor, the Plumburst "Fratello" - photographed with a portrait of the Miner Benedetto Signature wine... all those gorgeous shades of purple and plum just seemed to make, well, a great picture.

We'll also have some other beauties you can see - and play!

Last night at The Jazz Corner not only a landmark but a truly remarkable exhibition of true jazz. Dave Mackenzie, along with Howard Paul, resurrected the eternal recollection of Parker and Getz at Birdland, Cohn and Sims at the Half Note, and Desmond and Brubeck at the Lighthouse. In Mackenzie, you are up close with a true master. Out of this world and a rare treat! Tonight again at 8 p.m.

THE SIGNATURE OFF... LES PAUL

 In 1996, Les signs one of the 3 Benedetto "Jazz Guitarist Signatures" guitar backs. (the guitar back used in the making of 'Anima e Corpo' for Bill Doyle has the signatures on the inside of the back, and was the impetus for gathering the 80 signatures in all.)

The 3rd Back, shown here with Les and Bob (with signatures on the outside) is on display here in our shop in Savannah :-)

IN GOOD COMPANY

A poster of the inside back of the Benedetto 'Anima e Corpo' that LES PAUL signed in 1996. Can you find his signature? (A hint: in this photo, it's upside down and close to the top of the image. For those of us with aging eyes, you might need to break out the magnifying glass :-)  ).

His signature is in 'good company', alongside those of Herb Ellis, Tony Mottola, Bucky Pizzarelli, Kenny Burrell, Tal Farlow, Johnny Smith and 73 more!

LES WAS MORE

  Many people mourn the passing of Les Paul and most have a great story and photo with him...here's ours!

"This was taken in 1997, backstage at the Iridium in NYC. We went to hear Les perform and to have him sign the back of what was to become "Anima e Corpo" (with 80 famous guitarist signatures!), made for Bill Doyle. Les was ever gracious. We didn't get home till 6 am!"

We'll miss you, Les!

 The DHR Music Experience is worth the drive to historic Montgomery, outside of Cincinnati, Ohio, where Dale & J. Lee have created a striking music store/art museum.
