APRIL 1ST - SIX YEARS AGO TODAY!
|
|
April 1st has become nostalgic to us for two reasons:
1) Six years ago today(!) - and it was a Thursday that year, too - we had an incredible Benedetto Players Concert as part of the Savannah Music Festival.
The line-up (as you can see from our Ad in Just Jazz Guitar's Feb. 2004 issue) was, well, the best! Jimmy Bruno, Frank Vignola, Bucky Pizzarelli, Howard Alden and Martin Taylor. Talk about "Take Five"!
2) April 1st is also Bill "Loyal Doyle" Doyle's birthday - this year it's his BIG 5-0 (welcome to Our World, Bill)
As most of you know, Bill is the creator of our "Body & Soul" DVD and our Savannah shop DVD - Happy Birthday, Bill!! :-)
Bill was actually present at the April 1, 2004 concert - along with his lovely wife Lori and parents (when he was 'only' 44) :-) |
